Zombies, brains, and singing is what you will see in this year’s school production of “The Night of The Living Dead,” the musical. This show has everything you would want to see the weekend before Halloween. It’s scary, funny, and it has a great plot. The musical is basically about how a group of people taking refuge in an abandoned house have to fight off dead celebrities. “Doing a show around a holiday is something we have always wanted to do.” Mrs. Fortune, “we loved the movie and are perfect at the zombie makeup since we do thriller every year, it just all worked out really well.” The movie and the play are very similar to each other. Auditions for the show start this week on Friday. To rehearse for the auditions you can go after school on Tuesday and Wednesday. Tuesday is singing rehearsals, boys will practice from 2:00 pm to 2:30 pm, girls will practice from 2:30 pm to 3:00 pm in Mrs. Bice’s room. Wednesday is dancing rehearsals in the cafeteria from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm. The show is to premiere on October 24th, 25th, and 26th, the weekend before Halloween.

Paper Towns

Do you ever want to drive away for a couple weeks or days? Well in this book, Paper Towns by John Green, a young girl, Margo, meets up with her childhood friend, Quentin, to have one last night of crazy stunts and pranks before she takes off and leaves the town baffled. Quentin, is the most shocked however. He wants to know why she took off. Why did she chose this night? Where did she go? But most of all, why did she leave so many clues for him? Take the journey with Quentin and discover where Margo has been.
Military Families

Being in a military family is both very rewarding but also very stressful and scary. With the moving around, having to make new friends, and barely seeing the family member that is in the military, that life is challenging. It is also very hard because if either your mom or dad is deployed to Afghanistan or another similar country there is nothing you can do to change that. It is extremely difficult to be away from someone you love for that amount of time and constantly worrying about them. However, there are many benefits of being in a military family or just being in the military in general. You get health benefits, admission to the commissary on the base, and you are serving your country. All in all being in a military family has pros and cons and it’s not something you can change, but in the end you learn to respect and cherish everything you have.
Oakland Raiders vs. Philadelphia Eagles
The Philadelphia Eagles tore apart the Oakland Raiders on 11/3/13. After two weeks of no touchdowns the Eagles finally made 7 touchdowns in one game. They finally got their offense back on track. The game ended with a 49-20 score. The raiders, in their defense, have been trying to get there team back up and running. They have no excuses for this game, however and are ranked 10th in the NFL. Many of the touchdowns were made by Nick Foles but he had the help of, Riley Cooper, LeSean McCoy, DeSean Jackson, and Brent Celek. It is most certain that Nick Foles will be starting quarter back for the Eagles in the next games. Even though Michael Vick has been out due to an injury that occurred during his game against the Dallas Cowboys, Foles is now the favorite. Oakland Raiders are now 3-5 on the season while the Eagles are an improving 4-5. The Raiders were able to manage to score a touchdown in the nick of time but it was not enough to pull ahead. They defiantly have work to do on defense while the offense is doing half as bad. The outcome of the game wasn’t to blame the quarterback who racked up 288 yards in the air and 94 on the ground. This was truly an amazing game. With a record broken of touchdowns for the Eagles, and the Raiders with a plan to set up their defense, it should be a great rest of the season.
Divergent
Dauntless, Abnegation, Erudite, Candor, and Amity are all factions. In this book, a girl named Beatrice was born into the Abnegation faction. On her sixteenth year, however, she decided to change her way of life and switch to a faction completely opposite to the one she grew up in. The beginning of this book immediately catches the reader’s attention. Once you pick it up you won’t be able to put it down. This intense story has just enough action, mystery, and romance in it so that anybody can enjoy it. Beatrice learns a lot about her past and present throughout the story. Secrets about her mom, her brother, and herself. Surprises will pop out of every chapter and it will have you wanting more. My personal recommendation for this book is that anyone who reads it will absolutely fall in love. All of the suspense throughout the book and the images the author creates is just phenomenal. I rate this book a ten out of ten.
